DESCRIPTION:This is your opportunity to hear the mayors of Alberta’s largest cities\, Mayor Amarjeet Sohi of Edmonton\, and Mayor Jyoti Gondek of Calgary\, discuss their strategies for climate action. \nJoin us for a compelling session with two highly engaging mayors\, both of whose City Councils have declared a climate emergency. The talk will be moderated by Laura Lynch\, journalist and host of What on Earth. \nHow will Edmonton and Calgary meet the challenge of reducing emissions by 2030 consistent with keeping climate change near 1.5° C\, as proposed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and negotiated by the COP26 United Nations Climate Pact? \nJoin us on April 6\, 2022 at 7pm for this online event. \nOrganized by the Edmonton Climate Hub and the Calgary Climate Hub.
